John "Jack" McLaughlin Obituary

John P. McLaughlin, “Jack”,  passed away on Wednesday, September 20, 2023.  Born in Kearny, New Jersey on September 25, 1960, to parents John McLaughlin and Patricia Huhn, Jack graduated from Kearny High School in 1978 and went on to New Jersey Vocational School to become a machinist.   He worked as a machinist for Sheffield Tool, and as a computer numerical control (CNC) operator at International Tool.

Jack married Tana R. Toolan in 1981, and they were blessed with 42 years of marriage.  Together they raised their son, John Thomas, and Jack treasured the day their son came into his life as  one of his greatest life moments.

He loved his family more than anything, and he was an incredible husband, father, and brother.  He will be remembered as a perfectly balanced mix of funny and sarcastic, while always remaining kind and loving.  Though he prized his family above all else, Jack did have a few other favorites.  His dog, Buddy, trips to Biloxi, playing golf, fishing, watching the Discovery Channel, and enjoying music were things he thoroughly enjoyed when he had the opportunity.

Jack is preceded in death by his father, John, his mother, Patricia, and sister, Michelle.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Tana, his cherished son, John Thomas and his wife Samantha Gunter, sisters Denise Garry, Diane Slebode, brother Jimmy McLaughlin, and many nieces and nephews.

A family service will be held at a later date.
