James R McHenry

James R. McHenry went home to be with his Savior and Lord Jesus Christ on March 20, 2023.  He was born in Jacksonville, Florida on November 11, 1947.   He graduated from Walton High School in 1967, then went on to graduate from Chipola Junior College in 1969 and The University of West Florida in 1971.  After college, he served 6 years in the United States Navy.

James was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of DeFuniak Springs.  He was also a member of Glendale Lodge #225, a Plural member of DeFuniak Lodge #170, the Crestview York Rite Bodies, Pensacola Scottish Rite, and Hadji Shriners.  He served as President of many civic and charitable organizations as well.

James is survived by his wife, Rosemary Sanders McHenry, whom he had the privilege of being married to for over 50 joyous years.  He also leaves behind two sons: Clayton Harold McHenry and his wife Tina, and Justin Ray McHenry, and two granddaughters: Kaeli Sosa (Daniel) and Kennedy McHenry.

James and his family would like to express great appreciation for the love and the prayers that lifted him up to be with the Lord.
