DeFuniak Springs

Christopher D. Robinton passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday February 28, 2023 in DeFuniak Springs, Florida.  He was born in Utica, New York on April 15, 1972 to parents Robert and Donna Robinton.

Christopher graduated from Utica Free Academy in New York and lived on both sides of the United States – in New York and in California – before settling in Florida a few years ago.  In New York he was a member of the Buffalo Soldiers bike club.  He was a supervisor in Restoration services at Carbone Auto Group in New York and DriPro in Florida.  He married Chee-Rae Styles-Robinton in January of 2011.

Christopher was loved by many, and was a loving father, Papa, husband, and brother.  He was happy when he was spending time with family and friends, especially when that included riding his Harley on the open road. He was always up for a good time of being together relaxing and laughing and having an ice cold Coors Light.  He also savored a nice walk like in the peaceful Proctor Park in New York and on the beautiful beaches of Santa Rosa Beach, Florida.

Friends know that Chris was always available to help and would give the shirt off his back anytime help was needed.  He encouraged those around him to do better and to be better.  He would confidently say his children and his grandchildren are the things he was most proud of in his lifetime.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Donna Robinton.

Chris is survived by his wife, Chee-Rae Robinton, his daughter Autumn R Robinton, and his son Christopher D Robinton II.  His sister, Dana Robinton and his brothers Timothy (Tamara) and Robert also survive him.  He is also survived by Theresa Legget and Corr Leonard III.  His beloved grandbabies Avery, Kevin, Lianna, and Azarius will always treasure memories of their Papa.  He will also be fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews, special friends Frank, Corr and Dean, extended family and friends, and many others who looked up to him.

Special recognition is given to Shirley Sloan for giving him the best gifts on earth – his children – and a special thanks to the Carbone family, Frank and Lillie Shackelford, and his “brothers and sisters” for being there during hard times.

A private family service is being handled by Evans-McDonald Funeral Home.

Donations can be made to the GoFundMe for Chris Robinton.
