William Henry Miller, age 79, of DeFuniak Springs, passed away peacefully on February 12, 2026. He was born on June 15, 1946, the son of George Washington Miller and Vera Ethelee White (Effie).
Henry was a man who defined work, was a great provider, and one of great humor! He worked as a carpenter, owning his own business in construction for over 50 years. It is known that most boys and men in North Walton County were employed by him at some time in their life.
He was deeply loved and respected by his employees for his great leadership and willingness to help those around him. His work ethic was steady and dependable. There was never an idle moment, except when he was fishing. In addition to running his business, Henry loved to garden. He loved to watch his garden grow and would share and give to all those that wanted or needed. He was a giver, one who would truly give the shirt off his back to someone in need.
Henry was a man who passed down the same strong work ethics and leadership that guided his own life to his sons and daughters. It was later in life that Henry found his faith in Jesus Christ, a decision he never regretted and one that brought him everlasting peace.
Henry was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Robert Lester Miller, Charles Morris Miller, Earnest Lee Miller and his sisters Marie Smith, Vernell Dozier, and Wavolene Clopton.
He is survived by his sons Jeff Miller (Erin), Darrell Miller (Sharon), and Brian Manuel (known as Tad); his daughters Amanda Sneads (Jamie), Melony Foley (Robert), and his beloved dog Tebo; his sister Ethelene Alford and brother Gary Miller; his 12 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, 34 nieces and nephews, a multitude of great nieces and nephews, and one exceptional close friend and caretaker, Wendy Cuchens, who has become like family.
John Dixon will be officiating the funeral.
