Biography

Mrs. Willene Clark Whatley, age 79 passed away Saturday, February 28, 2009 in Healthmark Regional Medical Center. She was born January 27, 1930 in Geneva County, Alabama the daughter of Cleveland and Lula Lee Ezell Clark. She and her husband moved from Orlando to DeFuniak Springs in February of 1965 after ill health forced his retirment. Willene loved quilting and crocheting and was an avid fan of game shows on television. Her greatest joy was taking care of her children and grand children. She was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church of DeFuniak Springs.

Among suvivors are her husband of fifty-seven years, Thomas C. Whatley. Her daughters, Bessie L. Whatley and Mildred W. Yancey. Her son, Samuel C. Whatley and her step daughter, Linda Lewis. Her sister, Molene Trotman, her niece, Jo Ann Jorgensen and her nephew Larry Edward Anderson. A special cousin, Kate Sellers and a special niece Betty Lou along with ten grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren also survive.

Floral arrangements are being accepted. Services will be held Wednesday, March 4, 2009 at 1:30 P.M. at the Seventh Day Adventist Church of DeFuniak Springs on Lakeview Drive with Pastor Martin Facnher officiating.
