Mr. Wayne Mosley of the Argyle Community of Walton County passed away two days after his 56th birthday late Friday night at the family residence surrounded by family and friends. He was born October 21, 1953 in Honolulu, Hawaii, the son of James Lewis Mosley and Charlotte Ruth Derego Mosley. At six months old he moved with his family to Mobile and later to Excel, Alabama where he attended public school playing in various sports and achieving academic honors and graduating from Excel High School.
In the summers Wayne always had a job but eventually went to work for Compass Marine where he started as a deckhand and 18 months later attended Sea School for inland waterways and received his license as operator, constantly upgrading and attending training and schooling from pilots position eventually ending up as Captain. He thought of his employer, Walter Blessey and wife Jane Ann and Blessey Marine Services as a part of his own family. Wayne had a love of the outdoors and enjoyed archery. Wayne received Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior in the fall of 1985 and was baptized at First Baptist Church of Freeport. Wayne was introduced to Sarah Day during a hurricane and started dating, later marrying June 7, 1986. They moved from Freeport to Argyle and became members of First Baptist Church of DeFuniak Springs.

Among survivors are his wife Sarah Day Mosley and his sons Travis Shane Mosley and wife Stacey and Seth Wayne Mosley. His mother, Liz Mosley and his mother-in-law Rosetta Elkin Day. His grandson Ashton Shane Mosley and his granddaughters, Chelsea Strickland, Crystal Strickland and Ahnnika Tongol. His brother, David Mosley and wife Annette and his sisters, Gail Hadley and husband Steve and Karen Turberville and husband Donald. His brothers-in-law Charles Alan Day and wife Ann and John R. Day. His sister-in-law Susan Day Parker and husband Kent. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

Floral arrangements are being accepted. A visitation service will be held Monday, October 26, 2009 from 6 until 8 P.M. in the funeral home. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 27, 2009 at 3:00 P.M. in Jerry Evans Chapel with Reverend Mark Jones officiating.
