Vicki Lawson was born on June 23, 1951 in Birmingham, AL to parents Olean and Elwyn Robbins. She attended Berry High School in Birmingham and, after high school, the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa and in Birmingham. Vicki lived in Destin, FL for many years before moving to DeFuniak Springs, and she was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Destin. She passed away on September 29, 2026.

During her time living in Destin, Vicki was devoted to helping and serving in all the places that her children were active. Running the Little League concession stand, coaching the soccer teams, or leading the Boy Scout troop - if the boys were involved, Vicki was there. She loved supporting her children, and she also truly enjoyed being involved with anything sports related. She also spent time working as a Lounge manager at Indian Bayou Country Club, a daycare director, a customer service associate at Target, and at Dewey Destin on the Bay.

Vicki leaves behind her beloved husband Dennis Lawson, sons Michael Wayne Morris (Michelle), Jeffrey Robert Morris (Anne), and David Scott Lawson, and grandchildren Cole Morris, Oliver Morris, Will Morris, Jack Morris, and Clara Morris. She also leaves behind brothers and sisters Larry Robbins (Joy), Dereck Morrison (Leslie), Renee Tucker (Jerry), Joy Hubbard (Mike) and Heidi Gillespie.

She was predeceased by her father Eugene Elwyn Robbins, stepmother Hazel Robbins, mother Olean Morrison, stepfather Aubrey Morrison, and brothers Scott Burton Robbins, Tony Morrison, and Chip Gillespie.

Vicki was a special person. She never met a stranger, and she had a heart for children in every community she was a part of. Known at the concession stands as Ms. Vicki, by her boys’ friends as Mama Vicki, and by her precious grandchildren as Nana, Vicki will be long remembered for the way she so wonderfully loved and served everyone in her life.

In lieu of flowers, the family would be honored by donations made to Ascension Cancer Center in Miramar Beach, FL.

The family will be holding a private ceremony and will hold a Celebration of Life at a later date.
