Tana Renee Frazier

June 5, 1956 — June 12, 2023

Niceville

Tana Renee Frazier passed away at Shoal Creek Rehabilitation Center on June 12, 2023.  She was born in Valparaiso, Florida, on June 5, 1956, to Richard Talmadge Frazier and Viona White Frazier. After graduating high school in Niceville, Florida, Tana joined the Army where she spent the remainder of her working years serving.   Throughout her career, she got to experience life in Germany, California, and Kentucky, but Niceville was always “home.”  She retired from Vitro, a contractor for the military, where she was a secretary and a supply specialist.

Tana was a devoted mother and grandmother.  Her children and her grandchildren were her life and she took great pride in them.  She never missed an opportunity to spend time with her loved ones.  Watching movies, listening to music, baking, and spending time at the beach were her favorite ways to spend time together.

Memories will always be cherished from the times she got to spend with her children and grandchildren.  One of their beloved memories will include her renting and watching the movie “My Blue Heaven” every single week, even though the entire family knows every word of the movie.  Another treasure from a family movie time - A character in the movie repeatedly said “Word” in response to other characters (meaning ‘yes’ or something along those lines).  Tana did not keep up with the slang words, so this really confused her.   After the movie she looked very confused and asked, “what’s that ‘Bird’ mean?”  Tana also always made it point to smell great.  Her family will always feel she is near when they come across certain scents that remind them of her.

Everyone who knew her would agree that she would give you the shirt off her back.  Her kind and generous nature ensured she never met a stranger, and she made those she encountered feel special and valued.

Tana is preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Viona Frazier and her sister, Pamela Frazier.

Surviving Tana are her children, Rachel Klein (Bill) of Utah, Dusty Thompson (Amanda) of Florida, Matthew Scarborough (Barbara) of Florida and her grandchildren, Travis, Brysen, Layla, and Ellia.

A family service will be held at a later date.
