Steven Flay Alford

Steven Flay Alford, age 53, passed away peacefully at his home in DeFuniak Springs on April 30, 2026. He was born on January 10, 1973.

Steven was a devoted husband, son, brother, and friend who touched the lives of everyone he met. He was a MacGyver at fixing things, even making bushhogs out of lawnmowers. He firmly believed in the right to bear arms, and he loved to fish and hunt like his daddy taught him to. He also loved to cook - his BBQ sauce trumped all others, and he liked to debate life’s mysteries.

Steven is preceded in death by his daddy, Steve Alford, and his best friend and cousin, Rocky Martinez.

He is survived by his wife Jody Alford, children Starla Minter (Corbin) and Tyler Alford, and granddaughter Hazel. He also leaves behind siblings Rhonda Hutchins (Jason) and Christina Alford, his loving stepmom Connie Alford, and many more extended family members.

Per Steven’s wishes, no memorial services will be held. His family will forever miss his big love, positive vision for life, and endless generosity.
