Sherrie R Andersen passed away on Saturday, September 21, 2024. Sherrie was born at Anniston Memorial Hospital in Anniston, Alabama on June 28, 1957, to parents Wesley Eugene Hydrick and Mary E Smelcher, and she spent some years of her childhood in Anniston, Alabama before moving to DeFuniak Springs and graduating from Walton Senior High School. She had many great memories from her childhood and her time living in Anniston. She was Baptist by faith.
Sherrie loved her dogs, Haley and Riley, watching old movies and listening to music, and passing time coloring on Facebook. She also never missed an opportunity to go shopping or to get her hair done!
Time with her great nephew was a treasure to her, and he could always put a smile on her face. She also will bring many smiles to her family members faces every time they remember her saying “Oh Lord, that right there is funny – I don’t care what you say!”
Sherrie is survived by her son Bradly Olan Ward, and by brothers Linioel Lewis (and fiancé Sonya Lundy), Robert Hydrick (Cheryl), Eugene Hydrick (Betty), and Tommy Lewis (Susan).
She is preceded in death by her husband, Jorgen Andersen, sister Terry Hydrick, and parents Mary Smelchor Lewis and Wesley Eugene Hydrick.
Some people would have considered her hard exterior as the real Sherrie – she was never afraid to express her opinion - but those who were blessed to get to know her better knew she was extremely genuine and kind and was a friend who was always eager to help her friends and loved ones when she could.
