Rosa Lee Pugh Miller

Mrs. Rosa Miller, age 91, passed away Monday, September 7, 2015 in North Okaloosa Medical Center. She was born in Molino, Florida the daughter of Irvin and Ida Jeanette Hastings Pugh. Rosa graduated from Tate High School with the Class of 1942. She worked with St. Regis Paper Company as a lab tech and later began a career with Civil Service which spanned some twenty-five years. She was a life member of Gold Star Wives and was a charter member of Emerald Coast Gold Star Wives where she served as National Historian and National Chaplain. She was Regional Commander for the DAV Auxiliary on two occasions and was a life member of that organization. Rosa was a member of the Red Hat Society and was a member of Center Ridge United Methodist Church. She was a certified lay speaker for United Methodist Churches. She is predeceased by her husband Gordon C. Miller who passed away December 10, 1985, her sisters, Laura Shelby and Marqueriete Chalker and her brother Edward Pugh.

Among survivors are her daughters, Cheryl King, Patricia Kimble and husband Billy and Cynthia Rhodes and husband Bruce. Five grandchildren, Denise Carter, Kim Nelson, Tammy Tate, Greg Griffis and Michelle Rhodes. Six great grandcildren and also her great great grandchildren. Special friends Nancy Snider and Katie Verzwyvelt also survive.

Floral arrangements are being accepted or memorials may be made in Mrs. Rosa Millers memory to United Methodist Children’s Home, Post Office Box 668, DeFuniak Springs, Florida 32435. A time of visitation will be Wednesday, September 9, 2015 from 6 until 8 P.M. in Jerry Evans Chapel. Funeral services will be held 2:00 P. M. Thursday, September 10, 2015 at the funeral home with Reverend Nancy Snider officiating. Burial will be in Barrancas National Cemetery in Pensacola, Florida Monday, September 14, 2015 at 9:30 A.M.
