Rachel Audrey Guzowski

Mrs. Rachel Audrey Guzowski, age 87 passed away Tuesday, September 2, 2014 in Fort Walton Beach Medical Center. She was born May 19, 1927 in Poole, England, the daughter of Stanley Victor Ruter and Doris Ruby Clapcott Rutter Rachel met her future husband Dan at RAF Lakenheath, England, and they were married at Barksdale AFB, LA, on 25 June 1951. She followed her husband through numerous military assignments including Eglin AFB before they settled in Denver, CO, where Dan was an airline instructor. After Dan's retirement from United Airlines, Rachel, her mother Ruby, and Dan moved to Poole, England, where Rachel and her mother were born. Following Dan's death in 1988, Rachel and her mother relocated to Florida where she felt at home. Rachel loved to knit, sew, and cook-- skills she learned from her mother--and worked for some years in the 1980s as a representative for a major international sewing machine company. She is predeceased by her parents, her husband, Daniel F. Guzowski, her son, Dane Michael Guzowski and her brother, Carl Phillip Rutter.

Among survivors are her sons, Paul F. Guzowski and wife Christine of DeFuniak Springs and Bruce Anthony Gusowski and wife Jeanette of Tiffin, Ohio. Her grandchildren, Brian, John and wife Gina, Mary, Peter, Thomas, Jennifer and Sarah. One great grandson, Tristan also survives.

She will be laid to rest next to her husband in Arlington National Cemetery.
