Myrtle Laverne Greenlee was born November 22, 1925 in Union City, Tennessee to Theo and Mary Brockwell. She passed away on September 30, 2025, 2 months before her 100th birthday. She was Baptist by faith and was a proud member of The Order of the Eastern Star.
Laverne loved Jesus, her husband, and her family. She was blessed with 64 years of marriage to Raymond, and she adored him all the days of her life. Spending time with family was important to her, and she especially treasured time with her sisters, her dog Trevor, and her son Roger. She also enjoyed bowling, reading, and growing flowers.
Laverne leaves behind sons Roger Greenlee and Jimmy Greenlee (Jean), grandchildren: Tommy, Dawn, Renee, Roger, Preston, Mallisa, Jimmy, Michal, Jason, 14 great-grandchildren, and 20 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond, a daughter, Marilyn, and a son, Norman.
Laverne was an incredibly kind person. She will be remembered by family and friends as an earthly angel, and she will be dearly missed. Her words of “you can do it if you want to” will serve to encourage her family members for many years to come, and the memory of her beautiful smile will always bring a smile to their face as well.
