Millie Carroll Engeseth

January 10, 1922 — March 22, 2012

Millie Carroll Engeseth, age 90, formerly of the DeFuniak Springs area passed away Thursday, March 22, 2012 in a Pensacola hospital. She was born January 10, 1922 in Walton County the daughter of James Edward and Hattie Scott Carroll. Millie attended Walton County Schools graduating with Walton’s Class of 1940. She moved to Tennessee, and shortly thereafter joined the WAC during World War II. She then was employed by civil service, working at the Pentagon in Washington D,C. She met and married her husband, Sidney Engeseth in 1952. In 1970 she relocated to the DeFuniak Springs area and worked at Eglin Air Force Base with civil service until her retirement. She lived in Pensacola where she remained very active, as a caregiver for many many months for her brother and was President and past Queen of the Bayview Seniors Dance Club. Most will remember Millie for her upbeat spirit and her good “attitude” towards life and people. She was Baptist by faith. She is predeceased by her brothers Dallas and Lloyd.

Among survivors are her sons, Gary and Michael. Her sisters, Myrtle Wright, Peggy Mize and Mallie Allen. Her brothers, Billy Carroll and wife Betty, Dearon Carroll and Henry Douglas Carroll and wife Grace. Her sister-in-law Kathlene Carroll also survives.

The family will receive friends Monday, March 26, 2012 at the funeral home beginning at 10:00 A.M. with the funeral beginning at 11:00 A.M. in Jerry Evans Chapel with Reverend Phil McMillian officiating. Burial will follow in the Carroll Family Plot in Limestone Cemetery.
