Michael Russell Chisholm - "Mikey"

Michael Russell Chisholm was born on March 12, 1991 in St Petersburg, Florida to Jennifer Chisholm and Michael Henderson. He called DeFuniak Springs home all of his life - attending Maude Saunders Elementary, Walton Middle School, and then Walton High School, and he was known to all as Mikey. He passed away unexpectedly on September 3, 2026.

Mikey had a big heart and a big smile to match. He found great joy in making people laugh and in helping people any way he could. On one occasion he was even able to give shoes to a stranger who needed them to go to a job interview. Mikey was thrilled to be able to help.

He was very proud of the things he accomplished. When he got his CDL permit, he was over the moon. Being a helper on the back of the truck with waste management was another job he was proud of. In his free time, he could often be found playing video games or watching television - especially Dragon BALL Z, watching football, going to the movies, swimming, or perusing the game store.

Mikey leaves behind his parents Jerry and Jennifer Chisholm, birth father Michael Henderson, and siblings: Dustin Chisholm (Melanie), Mandy Chisholm (Chris), Deanna Chisholm (Dane), Sierra Henderson, and Connor Mitchem (a cousin whom he considered a brother). He is also survived by his grandparents Tommy and Donna Mitchem, nephew Eli Chisholm, nieces Olivia Bearden, Willow Chisholm, and Makayla Hare, and many cousins.

Mikey’s passing leaves an overwhelming void in the lives and hearts of everyone who loved him. He will not be forgotten. His winning smile and his jokes will keep his memory alive as his stories are retold and sweetly remembered by friends and family for many years to come.
