Lounette Harrison Danley

Lounette Harrison Danley, age 82 passed away at the family residence Monday afternoon July 18, 2016 surrounded by family. She was born October 2, 1933 in Darlington, the daughter of Emmett Kelso Harrison and Vallie LakeErie Sharpe. Lounette was a lifelong resident of the area and worked for a quarter of a century at Franklin Ferguson in Florala. She also was a school bus driver for the Walton County Board of Education for ten years or so. She raised her children, and often tended to her nieces and nephews who considered her a second mom. Her home was the center of activity for the family, mainly because of her cooking; chicken and dumplings, fresh vegetables from her garden, which was acres and acres. She served dressing every Sunday for years and years until ill health prevailed. She was an avid fan of soaps, The Young and Restless topping the list as her favorite, she watched twice a day. She loved hearing and watching the Gaithers . She was an active member of Darlington Baptist Church. She is predeceased by her husband Dan Danley and her brothers, Roy, Bob, Louie and Pete Harrison.

Among survivors are her daughters, Wanda Wilkinson and husband Johnny and Shelia Burkett and husband Duncan and her son, William E. “Bill” Danley. Her brother, W. M. Harrison, Sr. and wife Gale, two sisters-in-law, Kat Harrison and Peggie Sumner, four grandchildren, Sheena and husband Justin, Josh and wife Ashley, Julie and husband Charles and Daniel and wife Victoria. Seven great grandchildren, Jocelyn, Tristan, Evan and Daniel, Levi, Tanner and Rhett. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

Floral arrangements are being accepted. A time of visitation will be Wednesday, July 20, 2016 from 6 until 8 P.M. in Jerry Evans Chapel. Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 21, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. in Darlington Baptist Church with Reverends Barry Joiner, Wayne Sharpe and Terry Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Darlington Baptist Church Cemetery.
