Judy Thomas Reynolds

May 23, 1940 — October 8, 2024

Freeport

Judith Thomas Reynolds passed away of natural causes at home on October 8, 2024. Judy was born May 23, 1940, in Theresa, New York to parents Ralph Earl Thomas and Irene Fitzsimmons. She graduated from Tygarts Valley High School in West Virginia but got to call many places home as she lived in many places around the country. Through her years, Judy lived in Alexandria Bay, NY, Elkins, WV, Warren, OH, St Petersburg, FL, Old Town, FL, Palisade, CO, Kingman, AZ, Young Harris, GA, and Freeport, FL. She married and grew her family during these years as well (married to Roy Ware from 1956-1977 and Lenford Reynolds from 1987-2010). In Freeport, she was a member of Freeport Presbyterian Church.

For over 40 years Judy devoted herself to supporting hospital and ER staff and lovingly guiding families in their time of need. She earned great respect and admiration from the many doctors and peers she encountered at hospitals where she worked - including Palms of Pasadena, St Petersburg General, North Florida Regional, St Mary’s Regional, and Kingman Regional.

Judy had a boundless sense of adventure and loved traveling and meeting people. She was especially fond of her time in Colorado jeeping and camping while exploring the country. Talking was another of her favorites. Her enjoyment of talking was not discriminatory - she loved talking to strangers just as much as she did to her family and friends. There were always stories to share and things to learn and Judy leaves many memories for her loved ones of their times spent chatting. She was also an avid reader and an enthusiastic football fan, ready to cheer on the Gators or the Broncos on any given weekend. Judy also adored her dogs, Ms. Winnie and Tucker.

Judy leaves behind many whom she loved and who are so thankful to have gotten to love her. She is survived by her children Mary Jo Beeman, Anne Monger (Ross), Teresa Lindsey (Kevin), and Alan Ware (Kay), and brothers Robert Thomas, Ralph Thomas (Bell), Steve Thomas (Connie). She also leaves behind her grandchildren Joshua Bartlum (Ginny), Noah Bartlum (Kim), April Seitz, Shannon Rash (Eric), Jesse Johns, Jeremiah Ware, Joase Ware, Michelle Parker (Chad), Bobbie Meredith (Brandon), LeAnna Lindsey, Corylin Lindsey, John Grey (Megan), and Jessica Lindsey, and great grandchildren Charlie Parker, Lane Parker, Morgan Rash, Jaden Rash, Brianna Rash, Kaylee Quate, Elsie Bartlum, Emmie Bartlum, Morgan Grey, Jason Meredith, Paige Meredith, Eleanor Grey, Keanan Fleming, and James Fleming, and many loving nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her father Ralph Earl Thomas, mother Irene Thomas, brother Donald Thomas, sister-in-law Rita Thomas, sister Carol Schuman, son-in-law Donald Beeman, and K-9 companions Ms. Winnie and Tucker.

Judy, Juju to many, was funny, caring, loving, compassionate, and giving. Life without her will not be the adventure it was for so many years, but her family and friends get to hold dear the memories of stories shared and times spent together.
