Joseph Elliot Goldsborough

February 9, 1954 — February 20, 2024

DeFuniak Springs

Joseph Elliot Goldsborough passed away on Tuesday, February 20, 2024.  He was born in Leonardtown, Maryland, on February 9, 1954, to parents Joseph Raymond Goldsborough and Mary Lorraine Elliot.  Joseph graduated from high school in Maryland, Chopticon High, and then joined the Marines in 1973.

Joseph was a proud Marine and served our country from 1973-1977.  He was also incredibly proud of his daughter, Melissa and his retirement from DynCorp.

Time spent with his pets, Albert and Natalie, was always a joy to him, as was playing card games with friends, finding treasures through metal detecting, tinkering with small engines, and collecting coins.

Family and friends will always remember Joe for his genuine kindheartedness.  He never hesitated to do without in order to give to those less fortunate than himself.

Joe is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Raymond and Mary Elliot Goldsborough.

He is survived by his surviving partner Maggie Sansone, his daughter, Melissa Lynn Goldsborough, stepdaughter, Kelly Marie Redmon, stepson, Michael Allen Jochmann (Tia), and stepson Matthew Scott Jochmann.  He is also survived by his sister, Estell Pilkerton, and brother, Bill Sharp, grandson Justin Tyler Goldsborough, granddaughter Kiara Aniya Deviney, great-granddaughter Autumn Lemeir, and his former wife Cindy Jochmann (Mike).

Donations in Joe’s memory may be made to a Disabled Veterans charity of your choice.
