Joseph Lee Dries

Mr. Joseph Lee Dries, age 56 of DeFuniak Springs passed away Monday afternoon in Healthmark Regional Medical Center. He was born October 28, 1957 on Eglin Air Force Base and was the son of Mike Williams and Laura Lee Brown. Joe was employed with G4 Security Solutions in the Southend where he worked until ill health prevailed. Off and on over the past months Joe insisted on going back to work after each of his hospital stays until this past January when his condition worsened. Joe’s family says he was a most loving, giving and unselfish person and that his most enjoyable times where those he spent with his family and friends. They speak of him as a dedicated husband, father and “Paw Paw” and friend. He loved his job, fishing and hunting and everyone he met, he touched their hearts in some way. His family and friends will miss him dearly, but are comforted in knowing he is celebrating his new life with his mother, father and granny whom he truly missed.

Among survivors are his wife Debbie Dries, his daughters, Brooke and William, Christina. His step daughters, Joanna, and Jessica and Justin. His stepson, Christopher and Jessica. His grandchildren, Kashra, Will, Cadence, Landon, Aidan, Bentley, Zaelei, Isaiah, Angel and soon to be Kannon Lee. His brother, RD and wife Dawn and his mother-in-law, whom he loved more like a second mother than a mother-in-law, Maudree Brown ,also survive.

There will be a celebration of Joe’s life, celebrated the way Joe would have wanted; between family and friends, sharing memories and stories, laughing, crying and remembering his special place in their hearts.
