Jessie Arrant Simmons

Jessie Arrant Simmons passed away on December 9, 2022.  She was born at Lakeside Hospital in DeFuniak Springs on November 8, 1926, to parents John Angus Arrant and Mahala Padgett Arrant.

Jessie was raised in Leonia, Florida.  After she married David on March 15, 1944, she moved to Pensacola to join her husband and began a career as an electronic technician at the Naval Air Station.  She retired from that position after 45 years of civil service.

She is survived by her daughter, Wanda Casey (Mike), granddaughter, Sherry Casey, and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.

She is predeceased by her husband David Simmons, her parents, John Angus and Mahala, sisters Annie Ruth Gillis and Wynell Paul, and her brother, Gay Arrant.

When she and David were not on an adventure exploring throughout the United States, she spent her time at home gardening, and her Southern-style cooking was greatly enjoyed by all and will always be remembered.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM Friday, December 16 at the Gaskin Cemetery.
