Isobel Orella "Rella" Bower Bierbower

Isoble Orella “Rella" Bower Bierbower, age 84 of DeFuniak Springs passed away late Friday afternoon, November 15, 2013 in Stanley House Assisted Living. She was born in Hopewood, Pennsylvania the daughter of Andrew “Andy” George Bower and Isobel Orella Graham Dixon Bower. After graduating in 1950 from Uniontown Hospital School of Nursing she worked at various hospitals and finished her career as a geriatric nurse after sixteen years at Walton County Convalescent Center in DeFuniak Springs. In her earlier years Rella played violin in the school orchestra and clarinet in the marching band and concert band. She loved travelling, playing the piano and working jig-saw puzzles. She is predeceased by her parents and her husband of 47 years, William “Scott” “Bill” Bierbower. Rella was a member of First United Methodist Church of DeFuniak Springs where she was a member of the Chancel Choir and handbell choir and Service Sunday School Class.

She is survived by her three children, Mary Margaret Towe and husband Tim of London, Ohio; William Andrew Bierbower and wife Marla of Rancho Santa Margarita, California and Frances Lea Taylor and husband Stan of Elyria, Ohio ; her brother Richard Francis Bower of Lake Worth, Florida. Seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren and special friends, Marsha and Odon Russell also survive.

A time of visitation will be Tuesday, November 19, 2013 from 9 until 10 A.M. in First United Methodist Church, Circle Drive, DeFuniak Springs with the funeral beginning at 10:00 A.M. with Dr. Larry Teasley officiating. There will be private, family interment.
