Haywood Maddox

Mr. Haywood Maddox, age 69 of Deland, Florida passed away Sunday, January 11, 2009 in the Veterans Hospital in Palo Alto, California. He was born March 14, 1939 in Clayton, Alabama the son of Lemuel Lamar Maddox and Corene Henderson Maddox. Mr. Maddox was a veteran of the United States Army having served his country some twenty two years during which time he served tours of duty around the world including Viet Nam. He is predeceased by a granddaughter Morgan.

Among survivors are his wife Cecilia DeSousa Maddox. His daughter, Bobbie Jones and husband Glendale. His sons John Maddox and wife Ann, Eddie Maddox and wife Dana, Larry Maddox and Julia and Woody Maddox, Jr. and wife Mary. His brothers Lewis Earl, James and Lemmie and his sister Kathryn. His mother-in-law Angela DeSousa. His brother-in-law John Sousa and wife Elizabeth and his sister-in-law Lubelia Regalo and husband Duartino. Fourteen grandchildren and four great grandchildren also survive.

Military graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, January 17, 2009 at Corinth Church Cemetery in Westville.
