Harold Gene Ryan

Gene Ryan, age 83 a resident of DeFuniak Springs, and former Walton County Commissioner passed away Sunday, August 24, 2014 at the family residence. He was born November 4, 1930 in Houston, Texas, the son of Arthur Lee Ryan, Sr. and Welma Christian Calhoun Ryan. Mr. Ryan was a veteran, having served his country with the United States Air Force. He was a member of First United Methodist Church of DeFuniak Springs. He is predeceased by his son, Brett Ryan.

Among survivors are his wife, Anne O. Ryan. His children, Donna Marie Bixby, Paula J. Ryan, Gayle L. Harris, Christopher David Ryan, Jeremy Douglas Ryan and Alexander Steffen Ryan. Eight grandchildren and one great grandchild also survives.

Friends and family will gather in First United Methodist Church, on Circle Drive, DeFuniak Springs, Thursday, September 4, 2014 from 6 until 7 P.M with time to share remembrances of Gene's life beginning at 7P.M.
