Frances Marie Pyle

Frances Marie Wiggins Pyle was blessed with a long life and passed away of natural causes on May 31, 2024.  Born on November 13, 1930, in Bermuda, Alabama to James Avery and Frances Marie Butts Wiggins, Frances lived in rural Conecuh County, Alabama until she moved to Walton County, Florida in 1949.  She married Tilman Harold Pyle on September 21, 1954, and enjoyed working at various places around Walton County including Dreamland Motel, Henry Kober’s chicken plant, Showell Farms chicken hatchery, Walmart.  She also was an Auxiliary volunteer at Healthmark Regional Medical Center for many years starting in 1995.

She was a longtime member at Church of God where Tilman served as pastor.

Frances is survived by daughter, Barbara A. Pyle Laux, sons Donald W. (Gayle) Pyle, Kenneth D. (Ann) Pyle, and Paul A. Pyle. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Glenn Laux, Jennifer Laux, Nicole Pyle, Amanda Pyle, John Pyle, Sara Pyle, Charles Allan Pyle, Jami Lyn Pyle Crowningshield and eleven great-grandchildren.  She is predeceased by her husband, Tilman Pyle, father, James Avery Wiggins, mother, Frances Marie Butts Wiggins, sister Katie Lynn Wiggins McLean, brothers Franklin Delaney Wiggins and V.K. Wiggins, and half-brother James Louie Wiggins S1 USN.

She was a fantastic mother and housewife.  She was always positive and encouraging, and her proudest moments in life include her marriage and the birth of her 4 children.

Treasured memories of her unique sayings will live long with her family and friends.  Some of her favorites were: “If you can’t say anything nice, then keep your mouth shut”.  When asked how she was doing – “I’m as fine as frog’s hair split three ways.”  “I don’t know why I’m still alive, I guess my body is just too healthy.”  “I love everyone”.  “God bless America”

She loved traveling around the country and Yellowstone, Carlsbad Caverns, the Smoky Mountains, and Rocky City were some of her favorite places.  Frances enjoyed loving her dog Sampson, playing the game Sorry, and eating chicken and dumplings.  In her free time she might be found pulling weeds, taking care of her azalea bushes or babysitting her grandchildren.

Frances was genuinely sweet and caring.  She truly loved everyone, and she let them know it.

Her family would love to remember her with live plants that they could replant to enjoy for many years to come.  The family is hosting a memorial service on Saturday, June 8, 2024 10:00 AM at Solid Rock Church, 26 Joe Anderson Road, DeFuniak Springs, FL 32433 with Pastor Larry Murphy officiating.
