Edwin “Bob” Robert Seigler peacefully passed away from cancer surrounded by his family and friends on August 3, 2024, in Destin, Florida. He was born to Edwin Leroy Seigler and Lois Mae Gill on April 19, 1954. He attended Walton High School and then joined the National Guard.
Bob was a loving and dedicated father and brother. He treasured time spent with family, and time he spent providing for his family was something he was incredibly proud of. Over the years he provided for his family by working oil rigs, service in the National Guard, and truck driving - including time in Iraq. Bob was well known in the trucking world by his CB handle “Night Owl”. While these are accomplishments he was proud of, nothing compared to the pride he had for his children and their children, his beloved grandchildren.
Bob always tried to instill upright morals and values into his children and family. He trusted and believed 100% in Jesus Christ, and he was a longtime member of Woodlawn Baptist Church.
In his free time, Bob enjoyed being with family and friends hunting, fishing, being outdoors, watching Westerns, listening to music (especially Elvis Presley) and farming. His dogs, Bingo and Bull, and his childhood horse, Cricket were very special to him, too.
“Always say what ya mean and mean what ya say” was a recognized saying of Bob’s, and it is one his family can live by for many generations to come.
As the family reflects, each will have memories they will always treasure. For the children, Dusty holds dear the day, while hunting, he fell in the water and Bob had to pull him out. Alicia will smile at the memories of her dad teaching her how to swim by pushing her in the creek, riding with him in the big truck, and the bond they shared with horses. Holly knows how to go crabbing thanks to her dad, and she loved sitting on the porch talking with him. Jake has the funny memory of losing Bob’s flounder, and the special memories of time riding together in the truck and boat. Clint will always consider priceless the time he spent with his dad riding and working on the 1978 Bronco, riding the dune buggy, touching tread on tires when he was little, taking road trips back and forth to Texas, hunting and fishing, and Bob teaching him how to become a man.
Bob is survived by sons Clint Seigler (Terri), Dusty Seigler (Kristie), and Jake Seigler, daughters Alicia Ramos (Nick), Holly Seigler, and Kim Quattlebaum (Larry), grandchildren Anna Seigler, Katie Seigler, Hunter Seigler, Ashdon Tate, Veronica Tate, Austin Seigler, Skyler Ramos, Anais Seigler, Aaliyah Bush, Amari Seigler, Everleigh Seigler, and eleven great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind a sister, Beverly Seigler Marsack (fiancé Steve Cato) an aunt, Betty Jean Alford, cousin Melonie, cousin Lester Gill, nephews Jason (and family) and Nicky (and family), nieces Tara (and family) and Mary (and family), as well as special friends Roy Rushing (and family) and Donel Davidson (and family).
He is preceded in death by his father Edwin Leroy Seigler, mother Lois Mae Gill, Royce E Gill, Warner E. Seigler, Robbie E. Gill, Russ Marsack - brother in law.
