Dorothy Louise Campbell Smith was born August 16, 1961 in Phoenix, Arizona to Jack Donald Campbell and Carolyn Jeanette Warren. She graduated from Valdosta High School in Georgia and lived in Louisiana, Mississippi, and Texas before settling in Florida in 1998. She was a longtime and beloved member of Calvary Baptist Church. She passed away on December 31, 2025.
Dorothy is survived by her husband Charley Smith, children CJ and Dulce Smith, Brantley Barlow, and Amanda Smith, grandchildren Mercedes Kelly, Rachel Smith, Allie Smith, Jaden Brock, Peyton Pierce, and Rhiana Whaley, and great-grandchildren River Polson, Clyde Polson, Eli Hewitt, Tatum Hewitt, and Athena Robertson. She also leaves behind sisters Denise Beauchamp and Terry Davis.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Jack Donald Campbell and Carolyn Jeanette Warren Campbell, and her brother Jack Donald Campbell, Jr.
Her marriage to Charley and the birth of her son CJ were two of the most important events in her life. She was a devoted wife and mother, and she treasured every opportunity to spend time with family, including her favorite bulldog Cheyene.
Going on trips and exploring new places was something she loved doing, especially places with water and extra sunshine. She had a gift of making every place they stayed feel like home. Doing crafts with all the children in her life was something she greatly enjoyed too.
Dorothy set great examples in the way she lived her life. She was determined - whatever she set her mind to do, she did. She was dutiful - she raised strong and independent children who knew they were empowered to be successful. She was faith-filled - she loved the Lord and had strong faith in God. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
