DONALD MILTON "ANDY" ANDERSON

June 27, 1935 — October 8, 2021

Mr. Donald Milton Anderson, age 86 passed away Friday, October 8, 2021.  Known by his friends as “Andy” he was born June 27, 1935 in Connecticut.  He joined the U. S. Air Force in 1952 and was stationed and visited places all over the United States and other countries like Africa, Spain, Italy, Turkey and Korea.  He retired at the age of 41 to return to Choctaw Beach, Florida with his family in 1976.   Married for 57 years, December 2, 1956 until his wife Betty Ann Nowling Anderson passed on Valentines Day, February 14, 2013.  They bought their first house in Choctaw Beach in 1957, rented it to others for 20 years during his military travel and after his retirement they returned to the same home and lived there until 2008 when he and Betty moved to Atlanta to be near their adult children.  This December would have been their 65th anniversary; their family still celebrated the anniversary with Andy after Betty passed.

Among survivors are his children, Guy Anderson, Chad Anderson and wife Sally (Micker), Sandy Anderson and Kelly Anderson Millery and husband Seth.  Ten grandchildren, Charte’ and Bryce, Chad, Jr., Christopher, Russell, Michael, Shawna, Nathaniel, Preston and Grace.  Fifteen grandchildren, Kamdon, Gavin, Faith, Penelope, Savannah, Elijah, Abbey, Chloe, Colin, Zander, Marissa, Connor, Gavin, Vanessa and Mason.

Floral arrangements are being accepted.  Graveside Services with military honors will be held  Wednesday, October 13, 2021 at 10:00 A.M. in Magnolia Cemetery with Bishop Wendell Mitchem officiating.  Andy will be laid to rest next to his wife Betty.   Friends and family may go on line to view obituaries, offer condolences and sign the  guest register at jerryevansfuneralhome.com
