Dewey Odis Evans

Mr. Dewey O. “Dee” Evans, age 83 of DeFuniak Springs passed away in the early morning hours of Wednesday, October 3, 2012 at the family residence. He was born July 11, 1929 in Darlington, Florida the son of Henry D. and Mattie Herring Evans. Dee is predeceased by his sisters, Luella, Leola and Myrtle and his brothers, Willie, Henry and Lennie. His grandchildren, Patrick, Joseph, Billy Ray and Michael Paul and two great grandchildren, Ava Marie and Tripp.
Among survivors are his wife, Frances Thompson Evans. His daughters, Shirley and husband Herb, Betty an husband Ralph, Carolyn, Mary and husband Leon. His sons, Charles and wife Fran and Danny and wife Lisa. His sister, Dolly Dean. Grandchildren, Sharon and husband Anthony, John, Philip and wife Brooke, Mark and wife MaryEllen, Eric and wife Dawn, Jennie, Amanda, Chris and wife Tanya, Heather and husband Louis, Kevin, Dawn and husband Shane, Vicki and husband William, Daniel and Kristen. Twenty eight great grandchildren and one great great grandchild also survive.
Funeral services will be held Friday, October 5, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. in Jerry Evans Chapel with Brother Bob Campbell officiating. Burial will follow in Leonia Cemetery.
