David Randoll Carroll was born in Geneva, Alabama, on November 25, 1966, to parents R.B. and Pearl Carroll. He passed away on September 7, 2022. David worked as a painter and had his own business, DC Painting. He also served his community with Liberty Volunteer Fire Department. He spent as much time as possible with his family, especially his beloved grandchildren and his dog, Nugget. David could also often be found working in his yard, fishing, boating and scuba diving. He was a gun and knife enthusiast, and deeply valued American freedoms. The Constitutional and fundamental rights for all people to be free was a position he stood for strongly.
David is survived by his long-time cherished wife of 27 years, Sonya. He is also survived by his mother, Pearl (Locke) Engelby, and brother, Alan Carroll. He is also survived by his children: David “Davy” Carroll, Jr of DeFuniak Springs, Daniel Carroll (Krystal) of Somerset, KY, Dana Brannon (Jake) of DeFuniak Springs, Destany Carroll (fiancé, Anntwon) of DeFuniak Springs and Nick Carroll of DeFuniak Springs and his grandchildren: Daylan, DreyDon, Bentlee, Makenna, Jaxx, and Khylan, and numerous nieces and nephews.
David is preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents, his father, R. B. Carroll, and his sisters, Gloria, Sandy, and Paula.
A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, September 22 in Evans Chapel at Evans-McDonald Funeral Home with Visitation at 4:00PM and Memorial Service at 5:00PM.
