Cynthia D. Good was born in Trumann, Arkansas on September 8, 1962 to Jimmy Dale Croft and Judith Fuller. She passed away unexpectedly on April 12, 2026.
Cynthia, who was a very good athlete, graduated from Oak Grove High School in 1980 and continued her education with Technical and Professional Military Education Courses in the United States Air Force. She proudly served in the Air Force for 20 years as a Technical Sergeant, dedicating her career to the service of hercountry with honor, integrity, and resilience. During and after her time in service, she was stationed in many interesting places: Greenham Common, Berkshire, England, lncirlik, Turkey, Sembach, Germany, Eglin AirForce Base, and Valdosta, Georgia. After retirement, Cindy and Joe made a home in Eufaula, Alabama, and, finally, DeFuniak Springs.
Cindy and James "Joe" were a match made in heaven. They met in 1985 and have been completing each other's thoughts as "one heart, one mind" since their marriage began in 1992. They have happily made precious memories to be forever treasured. Family always came first to Cynthia, and for Joe's family, she was never a stepmom; she has and will ALWAYS be "Meme".
As children, Cindy and her sisters spent summers on the farm with their father who drove the tractors in the hayfield. After long days in the hot sun, he would let them leave the field 15 minutes before him. They would drive the tractors to the creek, jump in for a swim, and when they heard his tractor coming, they would quickly jump on the tractors and hit the gravel road home. They worked hard when they were young, from herding cattle to driving a farm truck when she was barely old enough to see over the steering wheel. But, looking back, Cindy and her sisters wouldn't have had it any other way. Her favorite jersey with the number 82 earned her the childhood nickname "82", that became a loving and familiar name everyone used for her. "82" loved that jersey, and she proudly wore it anytime family came to visit. Family time was always the most important thing. Cindy loved any time spent fishing, watching sports, especially football and softball, talking about cars, and adding mayonnaise to just about everything she ate. Travels to Azores and Mexico were always at the top of her memories. Another favorite was her phrase "Sho, you right!" She was easy to love, and her kind-heartedness helped her get along with everyone she met.
Cindy is survived by her loving husband, James "Joe" Samuel Good, bonus children: Joetta Good of DeFuniak Springs, FL and Russell Good (Cheryl) of Warrington, England, grandchildren: Jamie Love (Jucorey) of Navarre, FL, Jordyn Cobb of Auburn, AL, Chantal Johnson (Marcus) of Opelika, AL, Naomi Charnock of the UK, and Trinity Charnock of the UK, and great grandchildren: Kyleigh Love, King Love, Hayden Johnson, and Ayaan Qayum. She also leaves behind sisters Johna Croft and Samantha Croft Boren, both of Roswell, NM, cherished nieces and nephews: Mallory Francis, Micah Francis, J.J. Francis - all of Roswell, NM, and Rachel Maag of Tyronza, AR, and great nieces: Baylor Maag and Eden Maag.
She is preceded in death by her father Jimmy Dale Croft, mother Judith Fuller, and bonus son James Samuel Good, Jr.
Cindy will always be remembered as a devoted wife, compassionate caregiver, and the foundation of her family. She cared for those she loved with a selfless and giving heart, always putting others before herself. The bond she shared with her husband, Joe, was also remarkable, and he will continue to describe her as not only his wife, but his closest friend. Their relationship was a beautiful model for the next generations. It was built on trust, honesty, and deep mutual respect - one without secrets and rooted in unwavering support for one another. Cindy's presence brought comfort, strength, and stability to her family, and the love and lessons she leaves behind will continue to be felt for many years to come.
