Christian Wayne Hughes

Christian Wayne Hughes was born January 1, 1976 in Gadsden, Alabama to Kenneth and Veronica Hughes. A high school graduate of Fort Walton Beach High School, the Florida panhandle was home to Christian all of his life with the exception of the 3 years he served in the US Navy aboard the USS John F Kennedy. He passed away on December 8, 2025.

Christian was most happy when he was outdoors and when he was working hard. Shooting guns, working on cars, and being with family were his favorite ways to spend time.

Christian is survived by his parents Kenneth and Veronica Hughes, brothers Matthew Bennett Hughes (Myra) and Tom Myers, sister Mary-Katelyn Cuchens (Joshua), niece Twila Rose, nephews Joshua Luke and Deglin Bennett, and his significant other Chastity Moroy.

He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Clarke and Mary Hughes and his maternal grandfather Bennett Greenslait.

Always eager to help and willing to give the very shirt off his back to anyone who needed it, it is no surprise to those who knew him that Christian was an organ donor. Through his gift of organ donation, he truly lightened his family’s sorrow by them knowing he was able to be a blessing for other families in giving their loved ones another chance at life. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Per his wishes, Christian will be cremated, and a celebration of life will be scheduled at a later time.
