Cheryl "Sherry" Williams

d. August 6, 2023

Cheryl A. Williams, “Sherry”, age 63, has gone to be with our Lord Jesus Christ as our Holy Father called her home Sunday, August 6, 2023. She was born in Camp Lejeune, North Carolina on November 30, 1959, to parents, Gene E. Williams and Carolyn N. Williams. The family left Camp Lejeune, North Carolina when Sherry was 3 years old and moved to Pensacola, Florida. The trio was blessed with 2 more babies, Paula J. Williams and Steve E. Williams, and the 5 of them resided in Pensacola until 1975. After leaving Pensacola, Florida they moved to Deland, Florida for 1 year. Then, the family purchased a home in Valrico, Florida, where Sherry attended Brandon High School and was part of the graduating class of 1977. Sherry moved to Pensacola, Florida in 1984, just prior to the birth of her first daughter, Christine Andrea Brice, in January of 1985. Sherry was blessed one more time with a second daughter, Caitlin Amanda Brice, in March of 1991. She persevered as a single mother of her two daughters and was self-supporting of her family as a successful entrepreneur in Pensacola until 2005 when she then relocated to DeFuniak Springs, Florida to take care of both of her parents until their passing.

While Sherry will be remembered for being stoic, independent, and self-reliant, she was also a go-getter, audacious, and fearless. She loved “her people,” nature, and animals. She raised and trained many dogs over the course of her life: Hunny, “Little Dawg”; Gus; Tinkerbell; Penelope; Muffy; Little Boy Dog; Roxy; and Missy. Sherry loved to visit and drink coffee along with a fresh doughnut or a slice of fresh baked pound cake, “sweet bread.” The births of her most-loved people, her grandchildren: Jonathan Raymond Echele Jr. on September 24, 2009; Thaddeus Alexander Smoote on November 09, 2015; and Grant Eli Echele on January 24, 2015, were the most treasured events of her life.

Sherry is preceded in death by her father, Gene E. Williams and her mother, Carolyn N. Williams.

She is survived by her daughters, Christine A. Brice, and Caitlin A. Echele; grandchildren, Jonathan R. Echele, Jr., Grant Eli Echele, and Thaddeus A. Smoote; her brother, Steve E. Williams, and her sister, Paula J. Wisnowski.

Sherry’s unforeseen passing leaves many missing her greatly and finding comfort in the memories they shared together.
