Charles Miller

Mr. Charles Maurice Miller, age 72 passed away Saturday, January 11, 2014 in North Okaloosa Medical Center. He was born September 17, 1941 the son of George and Effie White Miller. Charles has a great love for classic country music. He was an accomplished musician and played professionally with Pappy Neal and Earl McCormick from the young age of 13 years old and for many years after. Charles is preceded in death by a loving grandson, Christopher Miller, two brothers, Ernest Miller and Robert Miller and a sister, Vernell Peters.

Among survivors are his loving wife of twenty years, Edna “Skippy” Miller. Two sons, Calvin Miller and Gerald Miller and wife Iris. His daughter, Loretta Dittmer and husband Joey. Grandchildren, Bob Barker, Brandy Daughtry, Tesha Johnson, Jeffery Duncan, Brandon, Ryan and Sierra Miller; Casey and Breanna Duncan. Two brothers, Henry Miller and Gary Miller. Three sisters, Ethelene Alford and husband Garland, Wavolene Clopton and husband Ralph and Marie Smith. Three stepchildren, Jeff Johnson and wife Trisha, Tinia Hennington and husband Marc and Marsha Cook. Step grandchildren, Joshua Johnson and wife Heather, Bo Johnson, Rachel Pardue and husband Jacob, River, Hunter and Brook Cook. Eight great grandchildren, other family friends and relatives. He also leaves behind his buddy “Digger”, his devoted dog who he loved very much.

A time of visitation will be Tuesday, January 14, 2014 from 10 until 11 A.M., with the funeral beginning at 11 A.M. in Jerry Evans Chape; with Reverend Harold McCormick officiating. Burial will follow in Gaskin Cemetery.
