A fact, only close family, friends and neighbors knew about Charles was he was a “shopper”; he loved shopping for and buying groceries. Often times he would stop while on his grocery shopping escapades and call family, friends and neighbors and report the bargains he had found and inquire if they would like for him to pick them up some of the sale commodities. He loved his family and friends and was a friend to all who knew him. He is predeceased by his step daughter, Cindy Lyster and his grandson Matthew Lyster.

Among survivors are his daughters, Vicki Grace and husband Darren, Janet Morse and husband Randall and Amanda Ulam and husband Lee. His stepson, Charlie Henderson and wife Robin.
The mother of his children, Cecil Ann Hancock. His brother Bill Lyster, his sister Frances Jacobs and Mark Strickland.
