Biography

Our precious mother and grandmother went to be with God on Thursday, December 1, 2011. She was born to Dillard and Ruth Burgess on October 28, 1942 in DeFuniak Springs. She was a seamstress by trade. Her greatest joy was her family and by the strength of her love and caring she was the glue that always kept the family together. According to the family they are left with a void they can never fill but will rest in their faith that she is watching over them. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Alfred, sisters, Vonnie Morrison, Vera Boles, her brothers Max Burgess, Ray Neal Burgess and James Bill Burgess and nephew Randy Burgess.

Carrie is survived by her daughter Carol Vines and husband Mark. Her son Eugene Pryor and wife Mona of DeFuniak Springs. Grandchildren, Jeffrey Pryor of Glendale; Shelly Pryor of Crestview and Jeremy and Rebecca Vines of DeFuniak Springs. One great grand daughter, Rylee Grant of Crestview and numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

Floral offerings are being accepted or memorials may be made in Carrie Pryor’s memory to The American Cancer Society, (envelopes are available at the funeral home). Those being asked to serve as casketbearers are Buddy Burgess, Jim Poe, James Poe, Will Whitehurst, Billy Burgess, Ron Burgess, Wayne Morrison, Lynn Donaldson and Mike Burgess. The family will receive guest from 1 until 2 P.M. Sunday, December 4, 2012 with the funeral beginning at 2P.M. in Jerry Evans Chapel with Chaplain Gina Bowden officiating. Burial will follow in the Pryor Family Plot in Limsestone Cemetery.
