CAROL ANN JOHNSTON JOHNSON

July 26, 1941 — October 30, 2021

Carol Ann Johnston Johnson, age 80 of DeFuniak Springs passed away Saturday evening, October 30, 2021 in Healthmark Regional Medical Center.  She was born July 26, 1934 in Osceola, Iowa.  Her birth parents were Paul A. Johnston and Adriana J. Frame Johnston.  She was raised by her Grandparents, Dee and  Della Johnston, and Parents, Paul and Jerry Johnston in Humeston, Iowa.  She graduated high school in West Des Moines, Iowa in 1958.  Soon after she married Frank E. Duncan and gave birth to son, Danny Dee Duncan.  Two years later the couple divorced.

Carol moved to Dallas, Texas and worked for Holiday Inn Reservations for ten years.    Later she worked for American Airlines, then moved to Atlanta, Georgia and worked for Southern  Airways.  She met and married Milton L. Johnson and was married for 48 years and helped raise step children, Cheryl and David.  The couple moved to McDonough, Georgia after the  children graduated high school, and there she worked at home typing Habeas Corpus trials and as a secretary for Flippen United Methodist Church.

Milton and Carol retired to DeFuniak Springs in 2002.  Great Grandson Timmy Pate moved in with them in 2010.  Milton passed in 2015.  Carol and Timmy were active members of First United Methodist Church and Boy Scouts of America.

Among survivors are her son Danny Duncan (Pamela) of Jackson, Georgia; step daughter, Cheryl Etherington (John) of Atlanta, Georgia; step son, David Johnson (Krystina) of Palmer, Alaska;  her sister Lonna Schuster of Carlock, Illinois; sisters-in-law, Marie Foster of McDonough, Georgia and  Frieda Dyer of Cullman, Alabama; brother-in-law, Henry Johnson (Virginia) of Griffin, Georgia, and special grandchildren, great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held Tuesday, November 9, 2021 in Magnolia Cemetery  at 10;00A.M. with Reverend Francis Turner officiating.  Friends and family may go on line to view obituaries, offer condolences and sign the guest register at jerryevansfuneralhome.com
