BONNIE SUE MIMS DUKE

September 6, 1946 — November 7, 2021

Mrs. Bonnie Sue Duke, age 75 passed away at the family residence Sunday morning, November 7, 2021.  She was born September 6, 1946 in DeFuniak Springs, the daughter of James Franklin “Frank”  Mims and Vida  Idell Wilkerson Mims.  Sue loved to fish just about anywhere she could wet a hook, two of her favorite fishing spots were Holmes Creek and Limestone Creek where she always enjoyed spending a lot of time with her family.  She also loved having cookouts with her family during the holidays and just random get-togethers surrounded by her family and lots of food.  Her family says she was a wonderful person and a loving wife, mother and grandmother who loved her family dearly.  She will certainly be missed by many.  She is predeceased by her parents, her Father-in-law Olen Duke, her sister Alma Jean Asfoore, her brothers Bent Mims, Bill Mims and Shep Mims.

Among survivors are her loving husband of 42 years Danny Duke; her four children, Malessia “Lisa” Littelfield (Jeremy), Shannon Nolin, Randy Radney (Felicia) and Daniel “Kenneth” Duke (Amy). Her sisters, Wystell Morris, Joan Schofield and Joyce Phillips (William).  Her mother-in-law Betty Murphy Duke; eleven grandchildren,Chad (Shelly), Ashley (Michael), Christopher, Samatha (Trenton), Kim, Jr., Tyler, Jared, Zachary, Kaleb, Kylee and Kathryn and seven great grandchildren also survive.

Floral arrangements are being accepted.  Among those asked to serve as pallbearers are Chad Foushee, Kim Cook, Jr., Tyler Radney, Zack Nolin, Trent Smith, Mike Fullwiller and Johnny Lynch.  A time of visitation will be Wednesday, November 10, 2021 from 6 until 8 P.M. in Jerry Evans Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be held Thursday, November 11, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. in Solid Rock Community Pentecostal Church, 26 Joe Anderson Road, DeFuniak Springs, Florida  with Pastor Larry Murphy officiating.  Burial will follow in the family plot in Caney Creek Cemetery, 5113 State Highway 2 West, DeFuniak Springs, Florida.
