Mrs. Betty Jean Hall, age 92, passed away at her home in Freeport, Florida on Tuesday, January 6, 2026. Betty was preceded in death by her parents Hildra & Artie McBroom, husband Alto Thomas Sconiers, husband Edward Lamar (Marty) Hall, brother Sam McBroom, and grandson Eric Moore.

Betty was a graduate of Walton High School and a member of the Eastern Star. She spent her earlier years fishing, reading, painting ceramics, crocheting, and camping. She loved to travel and camp with her friends. Betty was a Registered Nurse and a recipient of the Florida Department of Elder Affairs “You’re Still Ticking” award. She worked in numerous hospitals throughout the years including DeFuniak Springs Lakeside Hospital maternity ward as well as Walton County Hospital and later retired as a nurse from the Walton Correctional Institute.

Betty is survived by her three children Wayne Sconiers (Janice), Linda Kelly, and Kathy Sconiers (Butch Saunders), 8 grandchildren: Christopher Sconiers, Tessie VanderMate (William), Michael Sconiers, Billy Moore, Jenny Barton (Ben), Asia Nichols, Karen Burris (Charles), and Tricia Vestal (Dan), 14 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.

A graveside service will be held at Magnolia Cemetery on Monday, January 12, 2026 at 2:00pm with Pastor Ben Barton officiating.
