Nakoma Irene Weeks died peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones on January 17, 2024. She was born on December 12, 1961, to James and Alice Weeks.
Nakoma loved big. She cared for the elderly, loved children, and adored her dogs. There are many adults today who were blessed to be raised by Nakoma and who will always be grateful for the loving care she provided.
Time at the lake and the beach thrilled her, especially time at those places with those she loved.
She was a very strong and independent lady with a great sense of humor, a caring heart, and sarcasm backed with loving tenderness. Putting others before herself was a normal way of life for Nakoma, and she never hesitated to help anyone in need.
Shortly before her cancer diagnosis, a vacation to Mississippi was filled with laughs and good times, and eternal memories were made. A trip to the arcade there even recreated times from childhood – such a special time.
Those close to her will always remember her loving nature, her kind heart, and her matchless spirit. She blessed many, many people during her lifetime.
